P2X Solutions supplies hydrogen to the H2 refueling station in Jyväskylä

P2X Solutions, a pioneer in green hydrogen, supplies green hydrogen to the hydrogen refuelling station in Jyväskylä. Finland's first pilot hydrogen buses operate in Jyväskylä as part of the city's public transport system. In addition to buses, the pilot hydrogen refuelling station in Seppälänkangas also refuels a few passenger cars already in use, such as taxis.

The launch of hydrogen bus transport in Jyväskylä is an important milestone, as it will enable the development of hydrogen transport throughout Finland. Hydrogen buses will ensure steady demand for the new fuel and lay the foundation for other user groups.

"Buses powered by green hydrogen are one solution for reducing the carbon footprint of public transport and urban exhaust emissions. We are very honored to supply fuel to Finland's first refueling station from our green hydrogen production plant in Harjavalta. Other urban areas should follow Jyväskylä's inspiring example and boldly pilot future modes of transport," says Herkko Plit, CEO of P2X Solutions.

The Central Finland Mobility Foundation (Cefmof) is responsible for launching and coordinating the hydrogen bus and hydrogen refueling station pilots in Jyväskylä, and the operations are currently run by Cefmof Hydrogen Oy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cefmof. Cefmof has also been responsible for the procurement of the buses used in the pilot project. Other partners in the project include transport operator Koiviston Auto Jyväskylä, bus manufacturer CaetanoBus, and Linkki, which is responsible for public transport in the Jyväskylä region.

"We want to enable city-level trials that will generate concrete information about clean transport solutions in Finnish conditions. Cooperation with P2X Solutions is an important part of building a green hydrogen ecosystem – without the availability of hydrogen, there is no use for it. We are gaining valuable experience in the delivery and refueling of green hydrogen and the operation of hydrogen buses. Our shared experiences will drive the entire industry forward. We will openly share our experiences with other operators so that the industry can develop," says Lauri Perämäki, Deputy Director of Cefmo.
