Lack of regulations slowing down hydrogen investments in the north

Last week, 150 experts, investors and decision-makers from several countries have gathered at Luleå University of Technology to discuss the new technology at #BotH2niagoesLulea

Hydrogen is identified as necessary for Hybrit, for example, but at present there are no hydrogen pipelines to meet the demands in northern Sweden and Finland.

Two years ago, the Swedish Energy Agency put a strategic plan on the table of the previous government - yet nothing has happened on the regulatory issue.

- This creates uncertainty among investors, but also among the authorities and actors who have to assess, approve and grant permits," says Johan Sandstedt, Research & Business Developer at SHDC - RISE Research Institutes of Sweden
