Hydrogen skills centre Brave to Raahe

Raahe will be the only place in Finland to launch a basic and vocational qualification in process engineering, focusing on gas handling.

Hydrogen skills centre Brave to Raahe

A pilot and learning environment focusing on the production, transfer and transport of hydrogen and other gases will be built on the Raahe campus of the Brahe Consortium. It will include a modular container solution for gas production, a replica of a real control system, welding of pipelines for gas transfer lines and handling of pressurised containers.

The BRAVE project addresses the skills shortage in gas handling. There is no existing training in this field in the whole of Finland. The project will widen the career choices of secondary school students in the region and improve the employment prospects of those undergoing further training. The project will provide companies with the skills they need to apply energy and material efficiency practices, technologies and solutions for a carbon-neutral economy.
