Finnish Wind Energy Association expands its activities to solar power
The Finnish Wind Energy Association (STY) has decided that the association will expand its activities to include also industrial-scale solar power. With this expansion, the association's activities will cover a more significant part of the Finnish renewable energy field.
At the annual meeting of STY, changes to the bylaws were decided that will allow the association to expand its activities to industrial-scale solar power advocacy. In the future, the association will promote not only domestic onshore and offshore wind power but also the operating conditions for solar power in Finland. In addition, the amended statutes allow for the lobbying of other activities related to solar and wind power projects, such as energy storage facilities to be built in connection with the projects. In the future, the amended rules will also allow other newer energy production solutions to be included in the association's lobbying activities, if so decided.
"The combination of the mutually supportive wind and solar interests will create many synergies and strengthen the Association's role in the domestic renewable energy scene. Together, wind and solar power have a truly significant clean electricity generation potential in Finland and we will proudly represent both of them as pioneers of the energy revolution", says Anni Mikkonen, CEO of the Finnish Wind Energy Association.
