Elcogen to collaborate in the Chinese market
Estonian-Finnish company Elcogen and Chinese firm Guangzhou Xinzhili Energy Technology have agreed to collaborate on the development of solid oxide products for the Chinese market, while also exploring opportunities to market solid oxide fuel cells globally. The partnership will focus on optimising cell stack system performance, integration design and system validation.
The agreement establishes a non-exclusive framework for cooperation between the two companies, recognising their complementary expertise in solid oxide technology. It also provides Elcogen with a pathway to engage with a major power sector organisation within the China Southern Power Grid group.
“This MoU marks an important step in expanding the application of solid oxide technology in China,” said Hannu Anttila, Sales Director at Elcogen.
According to Anttila, the agreement provides Elcogen with a valuable opportunity to align its technology with the needs and capabilities of one of China’s leading power sector organisations.
“We see significant potential to accelerate the development and deployment of efficient, low-carbon energy solutions,” he said.

China Southern Power Grid is one of China’s largest state-owned electricity utilities, responsible for operating the power grid and supplying electricity across southern China. Through its position within this group, Guangzhou Xinzhili Energy Technology benefits from access to the expertise, resources and market environment of one of the country’s leading power sector organisations.
The company states that it has established strategic partnerships with leading energy technology companies and research institutions, with a strong focus on innovation, collaboration and the advancement of new energy technologies.
