EIA consultations on the national hydrogen transmission network have begun
The environmental impact assessment procedure for the transmission network project, i.e. EIA, has progressed to the point where Gasgrid is presenting the EIA programs at events open to the public.
The EIA programs are the first stage of the process, in which the project and the impact assessment plan are presented. The actual impact assessments will be carried out during this year and presented in EIA reports, which are expected to be available for public viewing in winter 2026–2027.
The route from Tornio to Porvoo and Hanko is divided into five areas in the environmental impact assessment. Several events will be held in each area, and it will be possible to join at least one of them remotely.
The same route plan that Gasgrid presented to landowners in the fall of 2025 and this winter will be presented at the events. Gasgrid will continue to accept information and feedback related to the route alignment, and the updated route will be presented during the EIA report phase.
