Renewable electricity growing in Finland
End-September figures from Fingrid’s enquiries concerning main grid connections: onshore wind 125 GW, offshore wind 26 GW, solar: 28 GW. Even if just under half of these projects come to fruition, the numbers in Finland are still significant.
Solar power in particular is growing at a significant pace in Finland at the moment. Over the past year, growth has been over 100%. For solar in particular, it is worth noting that solar connected to distribution grids is not reflected in the national Fingrid figures.
